NGV MARKET

Currently, there are over 1 billion motor vehicles on the road across the globe, making motor vehicles the world's second most widely distributed effect behind cellphones.

Due to a convincing variety of reasons, the percentage of Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) in many countries is growing rapidly.

In Europe, as well as much of Asia and South America, NG is considered the leading alternative to oil fuel for the next decade and beyond. Argentina, Brazil, China, Germany, India, Iran, Pakistan, Ukraine and other nations around the world are aggressively integrating NGVs into the automotive market.  In the United States, use of Natural Gas in the transport sector is suddenly getting more and more attention.

Despite this growth, NGVs still represent a small percentage of the overall vehicle market. Until now, costly refueling infrastructure, and the inconvenience of integrating NG tanks into vehicles has limited the growth of NGVs in the automotive market. Energtek's proprietary ANG technology is rapidly expanding the NGV market, by enabling the use of NG in places previously impossible.

Benefits of natural gas vehicles include:

•
Reduced particulate and NOx (Nitrogen Oxides) emissions
• Reduced greenhouse gas emissions
• Widespread availability of natural gas
• Lower cost
• Can be derived from renewable sources (biogas)
• Technically proven
• Available now
• Can be used in all vehicle classes
• Minimal processing or refining requirements
• Safer than most liquid fuels
• Can be refueled at home or workplace
• Noise reductions of as much as 50%
• Reduced engine wear and more...

Due to these benefits, its easy to understand why natural gas vehicle (NGV) numbers have more than doubled in the last 5 years alone. There are currently more than 12 million NGVs worldwide (October 2010) and NGV Global (IANGV) is projecting that this will increase at least ten-fold, to 50 million vehicles by 2020.
